BCL Legal is representing a leading law firm in the search for a high-performing, self-motivated, and experienced commercial litigator specialising in procurement disputes. This exciting opportunity is within the firm's Regulatory, Public, and Commercial Disputes team, providing both contentious and advisory legal services across various sectors. Key Responsibilities: Provide expert advice on all aspects of procurement disputes, representing both procuring entities and suppliers. Manage cases through dispute resolution processes, including High Court litigation, arbitration, mediation, and other ADR mechanisms. Collaborate closely with the commercial team, offering support and advice related to public procurement law. Assist in the development of the firm's contentious profile, both internally and externally. Work alongside the non-contentious public procurement team within the firm. Essential Experience: A minimum of 6 years' PQE as a commercial litigator with substantial experience in high-level procurement disputes. Proven ability to manage cases from pre-action stages through to trial, including drafting legal documents, managing disclosure exercises, and preparing for trial. Experience in advising on interim applications, abandonment of procurement processes, and risks associated with direct contract awards. Skills and Attributes: Excellent written and oral communication skills. Strong technical and analytical abilities with a practical approach to problem-solving. Resilient under pressure, with the ability to make sound legal and commercial judgments. Proven business development skills, with a strategic mindset and the ability to build and maintain client relationships. Strong project management and organisational skills, with the ability to supervise and mentor junior lawyers. Who You'll Work With: You will work predominantly with the head of the contentious procurement practice, alongside other commercial litigators specialising in procurement disputes. Additionally, you will be part of the cross-office team, collaborating closely with both contentious and non-contentious procurement teams.
