What does the role involve? The successful candidate will advise employers on both contentious and non-contentious employment matters across a range of key sectors, including health (private and NHS), commercial clients (automotive, manufacturing, retail), and higher education institutions. The role also involves business development activities to promote the firm's practice. Key Responsibilities: Advise clients on a range of employment matters, including drafting contracts, settlement agreements, and due diligence. Manage and lead on Employment Tribunal matters with supervision. Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and potential clients. Engage in business development and marketing activities to grow the firm's practice. Support the team in delivering high-quality legal services to clients. Skills and Experience: At least 1 year of experience as an employment lawyer, gained in a reputable law firm or through in-house experience. Strong written English for drafting purposes and excellent presentational skills. Self-starting with common sense, initiative, and the ability to work as a team player on complex matters. Excellent time and documentation management skills with keen attention to detail. Ability to build strong client relationships and work effectively with others. Good research skills, including the use of online information sources. High level of IT skills. Marketing and business development skills. Desirable: Previous experience advising large employers.
