Contentious Construction Solicitor - Senior/Principal Associate level - Leading National Firm - Birmingham
A leading top 50 national law firm is seeking a talented Contentious Construction Solicitor to join its highly regarded construction team in Birmingham as a Senior or Principal Associate. This exciting opportunity is open to experienced construction dispute lawyers with 7+ years' PQE and offers the option for full or part-time (4 days a week) work. The Role
As a Contentious Construction Solicitor in this nationally recognised team, your responsibilities will include:
· Handling complex and high-value construction and engineering disputes for clients such as employers, contractors, and professionals.
· Providing expert advice on a wide range of issues related to standard and bespoke construction contracts.
· Leading on significant construction-related claims, from contract formation and interpretation to professional negligence and defect disputes.
· Representing clients in adjudications, arbitrations, litigation, and other alternative dispute resolution processes, including preparing written opinions and oral advocacy.
· Assisting with client development through seminars, presentations, and business development activities.
· Supporting and mentoring junior team members, contributing to the overall strategic growth of the team.
About You
To be considered for this Contentious Construction Solicitor position, you will need to demonstrate:
· At least 7 years' PQE in contentious construction work, whether from private practice or in-house roles. Lawyers with mixed contentious/non-contentious experience are also encouraged to apply.
· Strong technical knowledge of construction law, including contract drafting, negotiation, and dispute resolution.
· Excellent client relationship management skills and the ability to provide strategic, commercially-focused legal advice.
· A collaborative, team-oriented mindset, with the ability to lead and inspire junior colleagues.
