I'm working with bet365, a leading global betting brand, to find an additional legal counsel to join their existing global team of 20 providing legal support to the worldwide business. This role would be based in Stoke-on-Trent, the group's global headquarters. Privately owned and founded over 25 years ago, bet365 operates in 22 languages and has over 100 million customers worldwide. The sector is highly regulated, fast moving and uses cutting edge technology. bet365 holds licences and market-leading positions in numerous jurisdictions across Europe and globally and employs over 9,000 worldwide. As a result, bet365's legal team has a varied workload and enjoys the challenge of complex, multi-jurisdictional work within a wide range of established and developing regulatory frameworks and areas of legal practice. The role will have a broad scope that involves a wide and interesting range of legal work, including drafting and negotiating commercial contracts, regulatory and gambling related compliance, marketing and promotional review, international development and bespoke projects. The role requires a lawyer who will have received training from a top law firm or in house team. Applicants with prior experience from varied areas of legal practice and prior industry experience would be welcome but is not at all mandatory. The successful candidate will need: * ideally, experience in advising on commercial contracts (e.g. software, IP, IT and marketing agreements), dispute resolution, company structures, policies and inter group agreements; * to be highly motivated and pro-active, with excellent attention to detail and an ability to find sound commercial solutions to challenging legal and commercial issues; * to have the ability to organise, prioritise and plan effectively as well as having a desire to expand their skill set and experience into additional areas of law. * to be able to work autonomously while still being a great team player, with strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to build rapport and establish trust at all levels. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a first class in-house legal team providing legal advice to an industry leading business on deals and providing valuable support in protecting the business and in new business opportunities.
