Vicky Clark
Director: Private Practice
Five reasons why I find legal recruitment more fulfilling than legal practice
Vicky completed the LPC at the College of Law in Chester and trained with a niche asset finance firm in London called Wilde & Partners, now part of Squire Patton Boggs, before relocating to the North West in 1999. She joined Halliwell Landau where she practised as a commercial litigation solicitor before she made the transition to legal recruitment. She helped to establish the North West legal division of an FTSE 250 global recruitment company before founding BCL Legal with Mark Levine and James Batt in 2003.
Vicky has worked with a wide range of the region’s law firms from international giants to niche firms in and around Manchester and Liverpool. She has placed over 500 lawyers into private practice and has been described as having an ‘encyclopaedic knowledge of the legal marketplace’ as well as having ‘professionalism and integrity of the highest order’.
BCL Legal has always been an active supporter of local TSG and JLD groups and we have continually supported a wide range of networking groups and legal conferences around the country as well as sponsoring balls and sporting events. Vicky now works with private practices in the North West and ensures the smooth running of BCL’s operations. She also spends her time working with various colleges and universities speaking to undergraduates, students and clients promoting www.bclgraduates.com - our free service for legal graduates trying to secure their first step on the ladder.
